Why Fall Is the Best Time to Start RF Microneedling — and Why You Should Book Now
It's mid-August. Summer is winding down. You've been thinking about doing something for your skin — maybe RF microneedling, maybe a resurfacing treatment, maybe it's finally time to address those acne scars or the laxity you've noticed — but you've been putting it off. Here's the thing: fall is actually the best time to start RF microneedling, and the window to get on our schedule before it fills up is right now.
Why Fall and Winter Are the Best Seasons for RF Microneedling
It comes down to one thing: sun exposure. After RF microneedling, your skin is temporarily more sensitive to UV radiation. We recommend avoiding prolonged sun exposure for at least 1–2 weeks after each session and wearing SPF 30+ consistently throughout your treatment series.
In summer, that's harder to do. Outdoor activities, vacations, and more time in the sun can interfere with your healing and reduce your results. In fall and winter, you're naturally spending less time in direct sunlight — which means better healing, better results, and less management on your end.
There's also a practical vanity bonus: the mild redness you experience for 24–48 hours after RF microneedling is much easier to manage when you're wearing cozy sweaters and no one's looking at your bare skin at the pool.
What RF Microneedling Actually Does
RF (radiofrequency) microneedling combines fine needles that create micro-channels in the skin with radiofrequency energy delivered directly into the dermis. This dual approach stimulates collagen at the surface and generates deep tissue tightening from the heat — producing results that are significantly more dramatic than standard microneedling alone.
It's one of our most powerful treatments for:
Skin laxity and sagging — especially the lower face and jawline
Acne scars and textural irregularities
Fine lines and wrinkles
Overall skin quality and firmness
Neck laxity (we can add the neck to any session)
How a Fall Series Works
We recommend a series of 3 RF microneedling sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for best results. If you start in September, your series wraps up by November or December — just in time to walk into the holiday season with noticeably tighter, smoother, more refreshed skin. Results continue improving for up to 3–6 months after your final session, meaning your skin will look even better in the new year.
A series of 3 is $1,650 for the face. Add the neck for just $150 more per series. Monthly payment options are available through Cherry Payment Plans.
Why Book Now
Fall is our busiest season for skin treatments — and for good reason. Appointment slots for September and October fill up quickly, especially for series bookings where we schedule all 3 sessions at once. If you wait until September to call, you may be looking at a November start date.
Book now, claim your fall spots, and give your skin the head start it deserves. Schedule online at burdsskinrx.com at our Peosta or Dyersville, Iowa locations. Not sure if RF microneedling is right for you? A $75 skin consultation will answer every question — and we'll put that cost toward your treatment if you book a series.
Your future skin is already looking forward to fall.
